About the place

The church was built in 1742 on the site of an older one. It was painted in two stages: in 1787–1790 by unknown painters and in 1820 by Ioan Popa from Săliște. It is a listed monument, code SB-II-m-A-12538.

The tower and porch were finished by 1816. A carved oak figure of the patron saint stands at the entrance, and the narthex shows scenes from the life of St John the Baptist.
