About the place

Building began in 1765, and the church was painted in 1774–1775 by the painters Stan and Iacob from Rășinari. The same masters had painted the Holy Trinity cathedral in Blaj in 1747–1749. It is a listed monument, code SB-II-m-A-12551.

The murals were covered by five layers of whitewash and were restored after 1964, on the initiative of the priest Zosim Oancea. Next to the Byzantine scenes there are Baroque details, such as portraits of popes.
