It gets you up the mountain fast: skiing in winter, walking in summer.
About the place
The chairlift has run since 1971 and has 52 two-person chairs. It moves at 2 metres per second and can carry up to 1,200 people an hour. The Oncești slope has a vertical drop of 241 m, and next to it there is a 400 m drag lift.
The chairlift runs all year, daily from 9:00 to 18:00. The slope opens in winter, usually from December to March. In January 2026 the slope was open daily, and the operator was still posting updates on its website in November 2026.
Good to know
- In summer, use the chairlift to reach the trails and come down more easily.
- In winter, check the slope status on the website before you leave Sibiu.
- It is cooler at the top than at the base; bring a jacket even in summer.
